IP Group Plc engages in commercializing intellectual properties mainly from its partner universities. It operates through the following segments: University Partnership Business, Venture Capital Fund Management, and In-Licensing Activity. The University Partnership Business segment includes the commercialization of intellectual property via the formation of long-term partner relationships with universities. The Venture Capital Fund Management segment deals with the management of venture funds focusing on early-stage UK technology companies. The In-Licensing Activity segment provides the in-licensing of drugable intellectual property from research intensive institutions. The company was founded by David Robert Norwood in 2001 and is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.
