Our bottom line

Quotezone enables you to compare home insurance quotes from a good variety of providers. Its detailed quote process, coupled with its direct comparison feature, helps you to drill down to what cover suits you and your home. And if during the process you think you may not have got something quite right, its quote summary and ‘adjust your quote’ feature means you can easily make a change. With Quotezone you can expect a comprehensive comparison from over 50 home insurance providers.

What does Quotezone do well?

Quotezone is able to present a large range of home insurance quotes in an easily digestible format.

Direct comparison – Quotezone has a feature which allows you to select four quotes to directly compare. With a huge range of quotes available, it can sometimes be difficult to drill down to the exact differences between them. This feature helps you to highlight the top four you are interested in. The comparison filter means that you can compare price, excess requirements and policy features, side by side.

Variety of vendors – The comparison service searches quotes from 50 insurance providers. The results page has a good range of price points from well known UK-based insurance brands. There are also specialist insurers included if your home insurance needs are more complex.

Special deals highlighted – If you are looking for a bargain, or something a little extra, Quotezone makes sure to highlight the quotes which offer that bit more. When comparing your results, you will be able to see exclusive prices for Quotezone customers or added extras available such as free key cover.

Adjustable quote feature – Once you start comparing quotes, you may want to make changes to see how that affects the price. Quotezone makes this easy with its ‘adjust your quote’ feature. Here you can adjust your level of excess or damage cover to see how this would change your final premium price.

What’s not so great?

Don’t expect it to be a quick and simple process.

Quote process is complex – While you can be relatively confident that Quotezone is covering all the bases, our review found that it doesn’t make it easy for you. Questions in the quote process can seem quite complex. And there is a lot of information you are required to input before you get your results.

No detailed breakdown of coverage – While the direct comparison between four providers is useful, it only compares the top level features of what is on offer. The site is missing a detailed breakdown of what you can expect covered in your policy.

How straightforward is it to get a home insurance quote with Quotezone?

When it comes to the quote process with Quotezone, you may find it takes you longer than expected. Don’t worry, you don’t need to clear your entire calendar to do it. But expect to spend at least 10 minutes filling out the required details.

There are several reasons for this. Firstly, the way the questions are worded mean that they are not instantly understandable. There is some jargon used. So if you are familiar with obtaining a home insurance quote you will probably breeze through. But if you haven’t ever done a quote – or haven’t in a while – you may find yourself taking longer on some of the sections.

Another reason the quote process is more complex is that there aren’t many incidences where information is already pre populated. You don’t provide your address until near the end of the process, so specific details about your property will need to be manually input. And selecting what job you do is a two stage process, if your job is not included in the original list.

The form also doesn’t include an estimate for the value of your contents. So it is likely you will need to spend some time working that out. Overall, the quote process feels a little more involved than other insurance comparison services.

Is Quotezone easy to use?

The answer to that question is yes and no. Quotezone’s quote process is a little bit complicated, especially if you are someone who is not confident with home insurance terminology. However, if you have all the information you need to hand, and are confident with what you need to input, this won’t hold you up.

On the flip side, its results table is very easy to use. It’s broken down clearly, and the direct comparison feature helps you to narrow down your choices. The ability to revisit your quote summary, and to make adjustments, also helps make it painless to select the best quote for you.

The process to purchase your policy from your chosen provider is also very straightforward. You simply click through from Quotezone. And once you are on the provider’s page all your details will have been input already. It is then just a case of making the payment.

Is Quotezone home insurance comparison right for you?

Quotezone is great for someone who wants a service that will help them directly compare a few select house insurance quotes. Its stand out feature is the ability to highlight and compare quotes from four providers, making it easier to see the differences in price and service across the board.

Quotezone is also good if you are looking for a good range of quotes from varied providers. In your results you can expect quotes from well-known brands, as well as more specialist vendors. And while you may not get the cheapest quote available, there is a good range of price points to be found.

All in all Quotezone offers a solid and helpful comparison service.
