About The Motley Fool

The Motley Fool is dedicated to making the world smarter, happier, and richer.

Who is The Motley Fool UK?

Tom and David Gardner, co-founders of The Motley Fool

Founded in the United States in 1993 by brothers Tom and David Gardner (those two handsome chaps on the right), The Motley Fool helps people attain financial freedom through our website, our selection of premium investing newsletters and reports.

In 1997 we launched the UK version of The Motley Fool and that’s the website you’re looking at right now.

Our main website is in the United States, but we have expanded into other countries as well, including Canada, and Australia.

Our Investing Strategy

In all we do, we take a different approach:

  • we believe that the individual investor can beat the market;
  • we believe that anyone can do it, even if they don’t have a lot of time or money to devote to investing;
  • we believe in a long-term outlook, helping people build wealth over time; and
  • we believe that the person best positioned to take care of your financial future is you.

Motley Fool UK vs. Motley Fool U.S.

Both our United States and UK businesses offer memberships to share-picking services. The difference between the U.S. and UK versions of our flagship services, Stock Advisor in the U.S. and Share Advisor and in the UK, is that Share Advisor gives subscribers 2 share picks a month – which can include recommendations from the UK and the U.S. The U.S. Stock Advisor service also gives members 2 stock picks each month but does not give specific investment advice on UK stocks.

The Motley Fool UK Personal Finance

The Motley Fool UK Personal Finance is our personal finance section of the site that gives guidance to help readers make well-informed decisions when it comes to their money. Before a Fool turns to stock-picking, they ought to have their finances in order first…

As such, you’ll find unbiased reviews where we score brokers with a 5-star rating, allow readers to learn more about credit cards and the like, as well as handy calculators, in-depth guides and a whole lot more across our website!

Our Member Reviews

A great service for budding investors and more experienced folk alike. Share Advisor provides well researched recommendations, that are explained clearly so that you can understand the rationale for investing and the potential risks.
