Women's Finance

Introduction

Welcome to the Women's Finance section. Why a section for Women, you may ask? After all, the subject of finance is hardly a gender-specific issue. Could it be that those Boyz N the Hood at Fool HQ are trying to put us into a little box out of the way? Of course not! You know better than that -- and so do they!

The fact is, women don't tend to get paid as much as men. We have babies and often take career breaks to bring them up, and we usually live longer. Some of us might even admit to an addiction to shopping! All of these factors mean that we have different priorities to men and need to plan differently as a result. Apart from anything else, we like our space and we certainly have different interests, hence this Foolish section dedicated to the needs and wants of us gals.

To that end, a new article will be posted every Wednesday covering some aspect of finance as it relates to women. It may relate to men too -- but then that will just be their good luck. Ideas, comments and criticisms to the Women's Finance Board.
