Free Party
Meet the Fools in London

Can't you leave that computer screen even for a moment?

Yes, you can! Liberate yourself this Thursday, November 5th, and come to a free party to meet all the UK Fools, along with David and Tom Gardner, U.S. founders of The Motley Fool who are visiting this week, FOR ONE WEEK ONLY.

Bring along that special person (who hates how much time you spend at our site) and up to five friends to Boxtree, our book publisher, headquarters at 25 Eccleston Place, near Victoria station, in central London on Thursday at 7 p.m. Just ask for the Fool Party.

There'll be scintillating Foolish chitchat, free beverages, free nibbles, and free FOOL caps to be given away. This is going to be the party of the Foolish season and, like all the best things in life and everything else at the Fool, it's totally FREE.

(Not quite everything -- you'll be able to purchase the new Motley Fool UK Investment Guide and get it SIGNED by all three authors. Tom Gardner, David Gardner and David Berger are not even allowed to travel on the same flight. To have the opportunity to see all three of them in the same room is indeed a rare occurrence. These signed books will be collector's items in the years ahead. Bruce Jackson may even sign the appendix!)

See you there! We'd appreciate if you could RSVP to TMFGoogly@aol.com so that we can get an idea of the numbers. The more the merrier -- invite your friends.

If you can't make this one off event, you can of course purchase the book online at our Global Investor bookshop. We are selling it for the special Foolish price of just £9.74.

The Motley Fool UK Investment Guide

Want to know more about the book? Here's a review, written by Alan Oscroft.

"It remains only to fill the cool box with six packets of frozen peas and tether the pig to a convenient spot and you are ready for action" -- David Berger

Well, I couldn't put it down, and I burned the midday oil reading it. It is great stuff. (I particularly liked the two "Software Fools" the author once met in a pizza restaurant -- they were amongst the stars of the book for me.) There are lots of amusing stories too, and I laughed until I stopped.

Over the weekend I showed the book to a few Foolish friends, though I was careful not to let any individual read it for more than twenty minutes -- if they want more than that, they'll have to buy their own copies! They loved it and wasted no time in telling me what they thought of it. "I've seen a lot of investment books in my time, and this is undoubtedly one of them," said one. "Best book I've ever seen with three men in funny hats on the front," offered another. "Makes War and Peace look like a thick book," waxed a third. Their praise was unstinting.

So if you want to find out how Hew and Blok got on with their deer hunting in Tunbridge Wells, or who threw the aniseed ball at John Logie Baird, or even how to perform heart surgery in your own garage, then this is the book for you. And it's got some interesting stuff about investment in it, too.

Seriously though, it really is a cracking good read and an absolute must for serious (and even not so serious) Fools everywhere. Well, that's what I think. And anyway, you'll have to read it if you want to know what the opening quote is all about. So if you want a copy, it is on general sale at all good bookshops right now. Alternatively, you can order it online and a special messenger will be despatched immediately to the printer's, and will wait there, through wind and rain, without food or shelter, until your personal copy comes off the press and will then hotfoot it to your door and there, on bended knee, will place the precious volume gingerly into your outstretched and welcoming hands. (Oh, OK, they'll stick it in the post.)

Thanks Alan. The Motley Fool UK Investment Guide makes a great Christmas present. If you like the book, why not recommend it to your friends? The Motley Fool is built on word of mouth -- help us to help you. The ultimate reward is a bigger and better Fool UK web site.

Kind regards,
The Fools
