Dear Reader,
We have some exciting news, which we thought we'd first share with our existing readers.
We will very soon be re-launching our website. That means, among other things, we'll have a completely new front page, completely new navigation features, and four completely new Fool School learning areas. The discussion boards, My Fool, quotes and data and My Portfolio areas will be unaffected.
Our aim is simple -- if the site design prompts each and every user to think that "this site was designed for me" then we will have been successful. We trust it achieves that goal. We hope to go live with the new site in the very near future.
The last time the site was completely redesigned was way back in April 1999. In Internet time, that's aeons ago. The fact that the site has lasted so long is a credit to its original design -- we've won many awards over the past 18 months and most of them have praised the design of the site.
But the time has come to move on to bigger and better things. We trust the new site will be a significant improvement for our thousands of users. All your existing favourite content and features will remain on the site, plus we'll be better able to promote many of our learning areas.
If when the redesign happens you've got comments or questions, we'll be happy to answer them on the Improve the Fool discussion board.

The new design is our Christmas present to you -- our users. Without you we obviously wouldn't exist. Whether you're a first time visitor, an occasional user, or a regular, we thank you for your custom in 2000. We also look forward to welcoming you back in the new year, complete with our new site.
