Jerry's Sticky Gold Star

Today FoolUK awarded its first gold star. For the uninitiated, this means we have our first Fool who has recorded 5,000 posts. It will come as no surprise to many that it is Jerry, aka sandersj89. Jerry has only been a registered Fool since September 1999. That means he has posted an average of 500 posts a month or around 17 a day. That's double the rate of our second most frequent poster, the ubiquitous licence, who has only managed an average of 8 posts a day. This has led many people to suspect that, perhaps, Jerry doesn't do a lot of work whilst in the office. We contacted some of his colleagues to find out if this was correct but apparently he never used to do much work anyway and they have hardly noticed any difference.

We also spoke to Jerry today. He told us "I would have got there a lot quicker if I had realised there were other boards apart from the Land of Off Topic Posts and Jokers Corner. I was at over 2,000 posts before I found that out. I think my electric posting speed is due to my go-faster pinstripes. I'd like to celebrate by buying everyone several large drinks at tonight's Foolish Social". Well, we may have made that up just a little bit.

We thought you might like to see a list of other frequent posters so we compiled this league table of all non-TMFs who have red stars for posting over 1,000 messages. Currently, we cannot run off a list of the posters with the most recommendations but we're looking into that as well. Remember, Fools, it's quality not quantity!

The top TMF is currently TMFNigel with 4,500 posts. TMFPyad is nipping at his heels with 3,900 if you include his previous incarnation as pyad. Mind you, we are all miles behind the top poster in the US. TMF2Aruba has notched up an incredible 14,000 posts. Fool on!
