Hi again Hedgie77,

I've been thinking a bit more about all this - you're quite right to suggest I find the Mathematics of probability quite difficult, and I would like to consider a reasonably simple problem.

Let's assume, for simplicity's sake, that I'm 100% invested in equities and that the rate of inflation is zero.

If I invest £100,000, spread evenly over 20 issues, for 10 years, what are the probabilities that my capital will
(a) halve?
(b) stay the same?
(c) double?

Show your working!
