From £2 ferry journeys to half price mobile broadband, we've got it all in our midweek discounts and deals...

Phew! Wasn’t this weekend a scorcher? But as Britain cools down after the mini heatwave, here are our latest midweek discounts and deals to keep those fingers clicking…

If you fancy taking a trip across the channel but don't want to break the bank, P & O Ferries is offering trips from Dover to Calais for just £2 for foot passengers and from £15 for cars carrying up to nine people.

Foot passengers must travel between Monday to Thursday, departing after 8.25am and returning before 9pm on the same day. Similar restrictions apply to those travelling by car, so make sure you read the terms and conditions before booking.

Sticking with travel, budget airline Ryanair is maintaining its vow to keep airfares low with another offer, this time with flights to both France and Ireland from just £10 return. As ever, school holidays and other peak periods are excluded from the deal, so check out the dates before booking.

If you’re looking for cheap mobile broadband, why not opt for a dongle from 3? At the moment you can bag this nifty model for just £7.50 a month, that’s half the price you’d pay normally.

There are some summer deals to sink your teeth into if you sign up to lastminute.com’s unleash summer offer. Register and you’ll qualify for a range of offers including 20% off at Uniqlo and 15% off at Superdrug when you spend £35 or more.

If your car insurance is nearly up for renewal, the Co-op is giving away a free TomTom One when you purchase a car insurance policy online. Remember, car insurance quotes can vary, so remember to compare quotes before being tempted by freebies alone.

Finally, with data storage at a premium these days, you can pick up this 8GB flash drive from Play.com for just £13.99.

Offers which continue to be valid:

The Hut has a host of DVDs on offer from just £2.93 each -- and on some movies, that’s a whopping saving of 85% off the RRP. My top picks are Notting Hill, Jarhead and The Big Lebowski -- all are under £3!

Over at Zavvi, there are a couple of great offers on box sets. Seasons one and two of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s hilarious Extras are available for £7.99 -- a reduction of £20 off the RRP. The Alien Vs. Predator box set, which contains all seven films featuring the scary duo, is now reduced by £49 to £10.99.

Here’s a nifty website highlighted by Fool reader steviewunda. Offer Of The Day lists a range of bargain items from retailers including Argos, John Lewis and Tesco. Latest offers include this Pro Evolution football from Argos for just £2.49.

Voucher code heaven can be found at myvouchercodes.co.uk, a website which lists a range of discount codes and printable vouchers to help you save on your everyday shopping. You may also want to check out codes.co.uk and hotukdeals.com.

And Amazon fans looking for a bargain should take note of Price Cut Review, a nifty website that lists all current Amazon products selling at half price or less.

Next time you’re sipping your coffee in McDonalds, bear in mind that the chain offers free coffee refills to all its customers. It’s a policy not many people know about, as many take their coffee away anyway. However, if you fancy chilling out for a bit, why not take advantage of the policy? I popped into my local McDonalds this morning to check the offer really does exist.

Last but not least, here’s one for the Londoners among us. If you live or regularly commute to the capital and hold a HM Forces, disabled persons, senior or 16 - 25 railcard -- as well as getting a third off your rail travel, you are also entitled to 34% off the regular off-peak Oyster daily price cap for pay as you go use.

You will need to register your Oyster card at a tube, London overground or selected national rail office to qualify. Full details of the offer can be found here.

Nothing on the Argos site about the two iTunes vouchers for £20 offer - is this information correct?

lotoftalk 30 Jul 2008, 8:47am

GFH100:

Click the link and see the info

GFH100 30 Jul 2008, 9:18am

lotoftalk:
Info on the link says iTunes 15 voucher £15 - nothing about 2 for £20

deelighted 30 Jul 2008, 9:26am

The M&S offer ended on the 27 July, this weeks offer was posted 29 July? errr something is amiss?

kayjay101 30 Jul 2008, 9:26am

I just checked the link too and nothing about 2 for £20. My partner just went into our nearest Argos superstore and they didn't know anything about it either.

spenderswife 30 Jul 2008, 9:34am

Lots of these offers are now out of date - M&S & Wagamama offers ended on Sunday, Urban outfitters ended Monday and Argos say offer has expired. Not sure why these are being sent out as "current discounts and deals".

TMFSUZY 30 Jul 2008, 9:42am

Hiya guys!

I swear on my iPod (and my iPod means a lot to me) that there was a two for £30 deal yesterday! They must have either pulled it or the deal must have expired :-( My apologies for getting you guys excited for no reason. You gotta be quick with these deals sometimes...

Have a good day folks :-)

Szu, I suggest you check your facts before submitting another article, telling people how to save money but using out of date offers seems to be a bit pointless on the Fool site!!

swimmingjohn 30 Jul 2008, 10:15am

Thanks for the tip about the cheap mobile broadband offer. I was considering it at £15 a month. At £7.50 a month it's a steal.

AdrianStannard 30 Jul 2008, 11:58am

"Finally, with data storage at a premium these days"... Well I'll be darned, and theres us seeing memory and hard drive prices do nothing but fall in almost exponential fashion (as it should for a while - transistor density still follows Moore's law)... Case in point, the Asus Eee PC 900 recently launched, top spec with 20 GB flash memory HD, was around £350 a month ago, is getting cheaper by the week, already its down to £263 (saverstore.com). Premium? What planet are you on?

AdrianStannard 30 Jul 2008, 12:00pm

And that 3 deal has been around for months! moneysupermarket.com even did a comparison of the offers and speeds obtained last month.

thenikjones 31 Jul 2008, 8:25am

AdrianStannard:

Rather than endlessly criticise Fool posts, why not try thinking?

"Finally, with data storage at a premium these days"... can also mean that more storage is needed, not that the price is too high! So thank you, Szu, and Adrian - a bit more tolerance in future, maybe??

TMFSUZY 31 Jul 2008, 9:53am

thenikjones,

I don't know you, I've never met you, I don't even know the first thing about you.

But can I just say...I love you!

Haha, never fear, I'm not about to start stalking you. But thanks for the support, that's exactly when I meant when I wrote it.

Have a great week!

Szu

TMFLaura 31 Jul 2008, 12:40pm

I'd like to reiterate what Szu says about the speed at which 'current discounts and deals' can become 'yesterday's discounts and deals'. We know this can be annoying, but it's impossible to stop it.

We always check all links are correct and working before an MSTs article is published, but unfortunately sometimes really good offers get pulled promptly!

Hopefully those who were disappointed this time will grab a bargain next time they fancy something featured in one of these updates.

redbex11 31 Jul 2008, 9:28pm

I don't agree with nasty comments being made because deals are pulled. I have read this article when it comes out enough times to know that sometimes just the whiff of a good deal means it will be pulled, like with that Cracker Box set a while ago. Obviously Szu would not be putting them on here if she didn't think they were valid anymore. Keep up the good work I say as I have found some great stuff thanks to you!

I'm sorry - perhaps I expect more than out of date information from The Motley Fool. Some of the "deals" quoted here are weeks out of date. If I reported false information on behalf of my employers I would not remain employed for long. I subscribe to The Fool because it normally gives accurate, unbiased information. On this occasion, all who subscribe have been sadly failed.

TMFDonna 02 Aug 2008, 5:25am

I'm the deputy editor here at The Fool and I have to say I am disappointed with the attitude of many Fools on this board. Szu and everyone else here at The Fool strives to ensure the articles we publish are accurate at the time of publication. There is little else we can do. You may not realise this, but we have to publish the day before the email arrives in your inboxes at 4am as, although we are hard-working, we are not in the office at 4am! If you are really keen to get the best deals before anyone else, visit the site on 5pm on Mondays and Fridays. Please don't make accusations about people reporting false information as it is utterly unfair to Szu and to the other money-saving tipsters who really are doing their best to find you the best deals and save you money.

GFH100 02 Aug 2008, 7:28am

So it's OK to post information that is weeks out of date then? I think you're expecting too little from your employees. If I reported that there were Led Zeppelin tickets available at half price, but when you actually applied, it turned out to be Bucks Fizz - and they sold out a week ago would you think that I had done a good job?

creditcruncher63 02 Aug 2008, 10:48am

I totally agree with GFH100. Donna says they have to publish the day before to get the email to us by 4am; this article looks like it was published about three weeks ago - that was the time when all of the information it contained was correct. Where can I get those half price Bucks Fizz tickets?
