I've been enjoying Motley Fool articles such as this one for over a year now, and yet I have never seen the Fool promote fantastic money-saving stores like LIDL. Why not? Does the Fool feel compelled to only promote British businesses? No UK store comes close to beating LIDL when it comes to MASSIVE savings on household items and high-quality continental food. Can someone explain why the REAL bargain stores are never mentioned on here? Thanks.

I've been enjoying Motley Fool articles such as this one for over a year now, and yet I have never seen the Fool promote fantastic money-saving stores like LIDL. Why not? Does the Fool feel compelled to only promote British businesses?

We've mentioned Lidl and Aldi in previous aticles - eg, from June of this year,

"'Deep discount' retailers Aldi and Lidl are a firm favourite in our household. The prices are generally excellent, and the quality surprisingly good. German housewives, where both chains hail from, won't put up with poor quality! If you're an Aldi or Lidl fan, you'll know what I'm talking about -- if not, check it out!"

in www.fool.co.uk/news/money-saving-tips/shopping/2007/06/07/ten-ways-to-cut-your-food-bill.aspx

And in June 2004

"Apart from the popular discount supermarkets, there is group of discounters known in the trade as "Limited Assortment Discounters". These hard discounters that include Lidl, Aldi and Netto will often stock a range of 1,000 private labels at very competitive prices."
