This is an interesting idea, I think there was talk recently about something similar on the London market for small companies. "Less regulation than AIM" was the quote I heard, if there was ever a phrase to send a chill down an investor's spine!

It's an interesting direction we seem to be going in, with the recent discussion about making AIM shares ISA-able too. We hear a lot about new companies finding it hard to get access to capital in the form of bank loans, so there are understandably mixed feelings about offering investors the chance to "fill the gap".

The danger meanwhile seems to be similar to the argument about allowing AIM shares in ISAs - will this lead to new business ventures getting access to the capital they need, or to increased speculation in AIM's most popular offerings... resource mining/exploration opportunities?

Think it could be an interesting debate over the next couple of years!
