Although it's the festive season and the shops are full of shoppers (and the pubs are full of drunken revellers), I see dark clouds on the horizon. The problem is... I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet [music from Jaws]! Last year, flush with cash from successful investments, I splashed out, spending many hours online and on foot to track down the perfect gifts for family and friends. However, I'm now living a more modest lifestyle (writers are ten a penny, you know), so I'm going to cut back this Noël. Anyway, I'm still going to do much of my shopping online - I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope for rapid delivery by Christmas Eve. So, if you're looking for online bargains, check out some of these money-saving websites and shopbots (price-comparison sites): Kelkoo is the big daddy of price-comparison websites. You can save money on everything from books, household appliances and electronic goods to health and beauty products and lingerie. Try its Christmas gift guide here. You could also try: Checkaprice, DealTime and Pricerunner. Another great site is giant online retailer Amazon, which has bargains of every kind imaginable. For books, try the above sites, plus BookBrain, Swotbooks and our Fool Shop (for Motley Fool books and other gear). If you're looking for music and films, try the following sites for CDs and DVDs: Note: If you don't have a multi-region DVD player, you'll need to buy Region Two discs for them to work in a UK machine. Alternatively, post a polite question on our Living Below Your Means message board and let the "Barons of Budgeting" help you to find the best deals! Have a great Christmas and a very happy New Year.
