I don't buy in to the generalisation that women make better investors than men. Some women are better than some men and some men are better than some women and really it has nothing to do with gender.

Its about making the right decisions and doing nothing when doing nothing is the right decision.

rober00 18 Jul 2011 , 5:09pm

Rubbish and American rubbish at that!!!

The usual "men tade more frequently than women..."

The dictionary says trading is: the buying and selling of goods or services.

Most women I know trade much more often than men....well the buying part of the equation anyway.

Sorry to say it but this first chapter is written in the same style as a miracle hair growth or weight loss product.

Another writer on the Buffett bandwagon. It's all been said before - and better

Hi ScottishPound

I can understand what you are saying, and I'd like to add that statistics can prove just about anything you want.

However, the most recent research (which is now over seven years old) appears to show that women are better investors than men.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/sex-and-the-city-study-shows-that-the-female-investor-makes-more-profits-than-the-male-557620.html

The survey look at 100,000 investment club portfolios and it found that the average woman’s portfolio not only outperformed the average man’s portfolio but also beat the market.

Best regards

David

Hi rober00

Are you suggesting that there is nothing we can learn from a book that's been endorsed by the world's third richest man?

Best regards

David

Hi ergojones50

I've never seen a hair-growth or weight-loss product endorsed by Warren Buffet.

Best regards

David

If a guy starts to invest like a girl would he be called a transvestor? Just asking!

About the presenter

David Kuo is The Motley Fool’s media personality. He can be heard on BBC London’s (94.9FM) Breakfast Show where he arouses listeners every weekday morning with his unique brand of financial news. He is also a regular commentator on national news programmes including CNBC, BBC News, and Sky News.

David stumbled into the world of broadcasting at the turn of the Millennium when he was invited to comment on the stock market crash. He says, “I think I stunned Londoners speechless when I said the good thing about the crash is that shares are now more affordable for people who want to invest in the stock market!”

His attitude to investing has never wavered, as he always sees downturns in the market as a buying opportunity for long-term investors.
