Trading Halts, Female Directors and Banking Wobbles

In this week’s episode:

Owain Bennallack and Todd Wenning from Dividend Edge discuss the market news that's caught their attention in the last week. On Friday, computer glitches brought trading on the London Stock Exchange to a grinding halt, which is perhaps not a good omen for the Exchange's latest merger plans. Plus do boardrooms need a feminine touch? The Davies Report is calling for 25% female representation by 2015. Finally, banks. Again. Results from Lloyds Banking Group get a cool reception due to worries about its interest margins in the year ahead.

Am I the only potential reader who lacks the time and patience for speech when they could read ten times the amount of information in the same period? And probably retain it better without constant imprecations along the lines of "For God's sake, just get on with it!".

@Jeremy - I wouldn't have thought you're unique -- I for one read a lot more than I listen to, also!

The idea of this podcast is to provide a different channel for those who want it, or for accessing it in a different format. But as you know, the vast majority of the Fool's content remains written pieces, and nearly everything we cover in the podcast has been covered in more depth on the site as an article.

Thanks for sharing you're thoughts.

People learn and absorb information in different ways and it normally stays with them for life:
visual, auditory or kinesthetic.
