Ask A Foolish Question -- Should I DRiP Or Dribble?

In this week’s episode:

Sonia Rehill delves into her mailbag for another batch of your investing questions. Sonia is joined by David Kuo, who is on hand to answer a raft of queries about dividend investing that include whether it is better to 'Dividend Re-investment Plan' (DRiP) into the same company or dribble the money into a different share.

 

We also look at liquidity problems when buying and selling shares, the roles of a chairman and a chief executive officer in a company and the intriguing issue of reverse splits. Don't know if I'm a canny investor, an MF addict or a subconscious Kuologist, but I didn't even have to pause playback to beat him to ULVR!

re DRIPping, one can take the simple view that the reason companies become big dividend payers is that they accept they don't have a compelling case for having a better use for their proceeds than you do. In this interpretation, a convenient low-cost DRIP plan is a bit of a coy, "okay, alright then" gesture.

Incidentally David - given your monicker, I'm guessing Water Dragon. In which case, have yourself a good year.
