Some credit card providers offer 0% interest rate on all purchases made with their credit card. The 0% interest period varies depending on the credit card issuer, but in some instances it is possible to get up to 12 months’ interest-free credit on all purchases.

0% interest on purchases means that you can leave your money sitting in your bank earning you interest for a while rather than handing it over as soon as you make a purchase.

Credit cards offering 0% interest on purchases also give you the option of spreading your payments, and are therefore a cheap alternative to expensive high street credit.

closeAPR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. APR is the percentage rate (percentage of your borrowings) which your borrowings will cost you each year. APR includes all charges, such as interest and annual fees. Where a typical APR is quoted, the company must offer that rate or better to at least 66% of customers who successfully apply for that credit card. APR or typical APR should always be quoted to you when you apply for a credit card.

closeSome credit cards offer loyalty schemes, reward schemes, such as Air Miles or bonus points whenever you use your credit card. Be warned that credit cards with loyalty schemes often have annual fees, so be sure the loyalty scheme is worth it before you apply!
