Kroger needs more features on their Store Brands with more emphasis on HOT ITEMS like "coffee". Their store brand coffee is excellent and great buy. Their monthly coupons sent to me got me coming back

It's way ahead of WFM right now in the food industry and I think it will stay that way

Kroger has been ahead of the curve for the last several years compared to the other traditional grocers and is well positioned for the future.

I love shopping at Kroger, but this company is not made to stomp the market. The company is excellent to its stakeholders and provides its shareholders with tons of cash. But it exists to move groceries in a very competitive world, which doesn't leave a ton of room for profit.

I have worked for Kroger for almost 5 years now. In the grocery industry, the turnover rate is high. So in that time I have seen a lot of people come and go, many of whom have worked for one of Kroger's competitors. Naturally, their opinions don't represent every storefront in the industry, but from what I have gathered from them and my own experiences, Kroger treats its employees better HEB, Safeway, and Walmart, who are its biggest competitors. So while many employees are there for their first job then leave for collage, those who stay, love the company that they work for. I don't believe that there is a single employee at my store that dislikes the company. And the more the employees like their company and feel that they matter, and are not just meat robots that can be used up then replaced, the harder they will work and the more they will go above and beyond to help the company and to keep the customers happy. I have seen this time and time again at my store. Service that is considered common-place at Kroger, you would never find at a Wal-Mart in a million years. Also, the Executives appear to understand that the best way to compete in such a competitive industry is to build a solid foundation out of employee and customer relations that will allow them to outlast the competition.

Kroger is poised as THE prime takeover candidate in the US retail space. It has plenty of cash and lots of ideas to expand its share ---a perfect combination of attractiveness. Someone will notice.

Kroger's movement toward fresh fair markets is the right move with the grocery trends being coming more and more oriented in that direction.

Consumer staples, cash-cow, cheap, paying dividends. Not going anywhere if the economy turns to garbage again.

KR is the best food play in the market. I'm going long after yesterdays sell off. Stores are impressive, prices are fair, food inflation will hurt other like stores, but not so much Kroger.

The company is in a downward spiral. The P/E is currently 0, which indicates that the company is bringing in any earnings. Just yesterday the PE was nearly 1000, which means that the stock price was over 900 times the amount that the company was making for that stock.

The total net income has also dropped sharply from one year to the next, and the stock price, in its current state, is unsustainable.

There are three things I like about this company:

1) They sell food.
2) Year-to-year revenue growth.
3) Year-to-year reduction of outstanding shares.
