Plenty of room for growth

Just my 2 cents. This drug has been used in Europe for various cardiovascular indications. So I would think that any adverse effects would have already revealed themselves. Although I am not sure how widely prescribed it is.
So I don't think there should be any surprises from a side effect profile. The initial studies look pretty promising. The drug may additional have benefit as an anti-platelet agent in patients with coronary artery disease (in studies done on rats). So I could potentially see this drug coming out for kidney protection in diabetics but have other unintended beneficial effects on the heart. Much like the statin drugs such as Lipitor have shown in reducing mortallity. It is that reduction in mortality that really sent Lipitors sales through the roof.
As of right now, there are only a couple of medications that can improve outcomes in diabetic kidney disease.

From profile, appears this biopharm has quite a few in the pipeline nearing phase III.

Keryx focuses on the acquisition, development, and commercialization of new pharmaceutical products for healing life-threatening diseases like diabetes and cancer. Its lead compound under development is Sulonex, a first-in-class, oral heparinoid compound for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. Sulonex is in the pivotal Phase III and IV clinical program under a special protocol assessment (SPA) with the FDA. The drug is expected to see a commercial launch in later half of 2007.
Keryx is also developing Zerenex; an oral, inorganic, iron-based compound for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Zerenex is expected to enter Phase III clinical development in early 2007. The company is also involved in developing clinical-stage oncology compounds, including Perifosine, a novel oral modulator of Akt, which is expected to enter Phase III trial in late 2007.
Diabetic nephropathy is a complication of diabetes. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) estimates that nearly 21 million Americans are affected by diabetes, making it one of the world’s largest markets for drug developers and a crucial space in the biotech sector. The company appears well positioned to carve out a niche in a lucrative and growing market spanning diabetes and ESRD. Sulonex, the company’s lead compound, is under the last stage of development for diabetic nephropathy market, has a greater-than-$1 billion market potential.
For the nine months ended September 2006, Keryx' revenues increased 19% to $433 thousand, reflecting a 3% increase in service income and the presence of diagnostic income. Diagnostic revenue was $58,000 as a result of acquisition of Accumin during the second quarter of 2006. Considering the time-and-events outlook, a unique drug development profile and the commercial potential of its late-stage drug candidates Sulonex and Zerenex, Keryx approves to be a profitable investment candidate.

Good business model: management only with all operations and R&D outsourced as needed.

As of close of business on 2/20/08, this was a 5-star Morningstar stock trading at less than half of its Morningstar fair value.

Great for a remiss day-trader; it is almost a penny stock with reliable management in a beaten-down market whose price fluctuations are almost predictive by MACD.

Phase 3 for sulodexide unlikely to impress ...

Will rebound to historical price levels then level off.

I know that this is probably not the best time to make this recommendation in the short term but it just now peeked its head above the $100M market cap threshold so I figured I would add for the long term while I had the chance.
Prospects look decent for its renal stuff and the chart looks great so I'm holding this for long term gains.

All in at .14, it's in my watchlist at .19.
This baby has 2 phase 3s coming! Perifosine has the red carpet with orphan drug status!

This Company is on its way up. They produce life saving and life improving treatments and are the real deal when it comes to bringing them to market. Having recently lost a family member to cancer, and knowing what it is like to wish one of these pharm companies would actually bring to market something that would help defeat this disease and improve the quality of life of a loved one I am deffinetly in their corner and feel very good about holding their stock. There recent study results on kidney disease and treatment add weight to my belief that they wil not only outperform the s&p they will simpley blow it away :)

Key developments have been announced to increase the likelyhood of new drugs being brought. The stock is selling at a major discount from its daily average moving price in past years.

it has two good drugs in phase 3 trials and just got approval in UK for one of them, a new class of drugs to treat multiple myeloma.
