With the persistent instability in the middle east oil companies are becoming weary of continuing operations in unstable regions. The U.S. is predicted to have another energy boom and Halliburton will profit off of it. I seem them growing in the next 5 years.

this cheap stock will benefit from all USA oil services contracts and Oil & Gas company growth.

Haliburton is facing some headwinds with low natural gas prices, high guar prices, and tempering rig counts. However, the company has transformed itself into an integrated solutions provider -- almost like the IBM of the oil services industry -- where it becomes embedded in its customers' well sites. It's revenue is therefore sticky and that helps build lasting relationships. New business tends to center around unconventional wells which are much more service intensive and oil companies who are looking to avoid reputation risk due to heightened regulatory scrutiny will probably prefer to do business with fewer servicers for easier to track accountability. These secular trends play to HALs strengths.

This stock has rebounded off of recent lows, but the shares still look cheap. It also pays a dividend yield of about 1%, which is not significant, but it could be poised to raise the dividend substantially in the coming years, as the payout ratio is just around 10% of earnings.

Halliburton's management's incentives are aligned with shareholders with their long term compensation measured by Cash Added Value, so they are highly motivated to grow shareholder value.

Guar... "getting the pig through the python". Frac costs will start to drop and margins will improve. The world is only getting bigger along with its appetite for oil and natural gas

Incredible but true: the cost of Guar is impacting Halliburton's profits and will continue to impact profits until more Guar is grown or more synthetic Guar or other products can be used.

I think they will figure it out and get back to making better profits in a year or so.

If NYS, as rumored, allows gas drilling (fracking) in five counties then HAL will surely benefit. NY is open for business.

The oil and gas service names have fallen out of favor on Wall St for no good reason.
