With MD offering 13.65 there seems little downside and MAYBE there will be a higher offer because 13.65 is stealing this company from shareholders

Dell will figure it out. Michael Dell should have never stepped down as CEO, but now that he's back I think Dell can catch back up with its competition.

I think a deal is unlikely

Better hope that buyout materializes because it sure is looking overbought to me...

The share price is undervalued and Dell is much more than just a PC producing company. PC's as we know them today will not be what they look like today as they will morph to look more like tablets and other smaller gadgets. Dell has begun using its billions of cash in the bank and has begun morphing already. The current Dell share price is a bargain. Five years from now the share price of Dell will have gone up more than the S&P will have done.

I know some say this is a value trap, but at what price would you buy? I think if you hold for 3-5 years, you will double your money. Sure, tablets are taking away market share from PC's and laptops. However, I think Dell is not going out of business anytime soon and the price drop has been overblown.
The bottom-line is that even if consumers buy tablets, businesses will continue to spend money on PC's and laptops for the foreseeable future. Tablets still lack the functionality needed for businesses to abandon these products. I consider tablets more of an accessory product. Sooner or later, PC companies such as Dell and HPQ will have to innovate these products to be more competitive. In fact, I think the new PC's and laptops with touch screen and tablet convertibility is where the industry is headed. It may take some time, but Dell is not going away any time soon. At these prices, it is worth a shot going long and holding for many years to get the upside potential along with a solid dividend.

There's still room in the non-tablet computing industry. Dell looks better than HP at the moment.

Although overall demand may be weak for PCs, think that DELL will stay profitable and that the stock is attractive below $10 per share.
