think it could be an acquisition target in the mid to long term
With all do respect, SAM will not be bought out. The only companies large enough to buy them are the big macrobrewers like BUD or TAP. Jim Koch founded the company in protest of those very companies and the low-quality product that Bud and Miller produce. To Koch, SAM, and craft beer geeks, the big macros are the "evil empire." He would never sell his company to them. And even if he did, the brand would instantly lose much of it's competitive advantage, which is being the anti-anheuser busch.
