BHMG is an investment trust based on the Brevan Howard Macro hedge fund (BH Macro). BH Macro employs a strategy trading FX and fixed income and enjoys a low correlation with the main indices. It has a decent track record of about 15 pct annual return between 2003 and 2009 compared with about 6 pct for the MSCI World Index over the same period. If 2012 turns out to be a tricky year for investing, this performance may at least beat the market. (However, if the market surprises on the upside, BHMG's performance is likely to lag.)
